Travelling people - provision of sites: Outline
Southend does not have any designated traveller sites, and at this moment in time there are no authorised or unauthorised sites in the Borough.
It is a breach of civil law for anyone to occupy a piece of land without consent. To move them on, the landowner must follow a process through the civil courts. The Police have discretionary powers to evict people from land if they break the law or behave in an antisocial manner.
