Council services
Business Rates: Outline
Non Domestic Rates or 'Business Rates' are the means by which businesses and others who occupy non domestic properties contribute to the cost of local services.
The rates collected are pooled by central government and redistributed to local councils according to the number of people in the area. This money, together with revenue from council tax payers, revenue support grant provided by central government and other sums is used to pay for services provided by your Council.
