Council - risk management - insurance claims: Outline

The Insurance & Risk department is responsible for:-

  • Arranging an economic and effective Insurance Programme for the Council.
  • The collation of risk data in order to effect appropriate insurance.
  • Recommending the appropriate risk retention levels for the Council.
  • Advising, handling and managing insurance claims.
  • The collation of loss statistics across the Council.
  • The implementation of lessons learned from losses to minimise future losses.
  • The minimisation of the Council’s operational cost of risk.
  • Advising on the scope of insurance cover, operational risk issues and the appropriate insurance requirements.
  • The development and communication of operational Risk Management and Insurance across the Council.
  • Providing Insurance Services to South Essex Homes
