Council - risk management - insurance claims: Outline
The Insurance & Risk department is responsible for:-
- Arranging an economic and effective Insurance Programme for the Council.
- The collation of risk data in order to effect appropriate insurance.
- Recommending the appropriate risk retention levels for the Council.
- Advising, handling and managing insurance claims.
- The collation of loss statistics across the Council.
- The implementation of lessons learned from losses to minimise future losses.
- The minimisation of the Council’s operational cost of risk.
- Advising on the scope of insurance cover, operational risk issues and the appropriate insurance requirements.
- The development and communication of operational Risk Management and Insurance across the Council.
- Providing Insurance Services to South Essex Homes
