Benefits - fraud investigation: Outline
Every year, benefit fraud costs the country billions of pounds. Southend-on-Sea Borough Council believes fair and effective prosecution is essential in order to protect public funds and thereby save money, which can then be used to support vital services. The Council will ensure that successful prosecutions are reported to the media in order to demonstrate its continual drive to prevent fraud.
How do I report benefit fraud?
You do not need to give your name just the details of the suspected fraud. The information you give will be treated in the strictest confidence. If you know that someone is claiming benefit, which they are not entitled to get, then please contact us.
