The legislation which Environmental Health uses doesn't cover noise from vehicles in the street, such as noisy engines or exhausts, or the letting off of fireworks, both of which should be reported to the police.

The legislation CANNOT be used to control behavioural noise, such as screaming, shouting, banging doors etc. Extreme or persistent cases should be referred to the Council's Anti Social Behaviour Coordinator on 01702 431212 extension 33128 for further advice.
