Council - performance - indicators: Outline

The performance assessment regime for local public services, the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), introduced in 2009, was abolished by the coalition government in June 2010.  CAA provided an assessment by the Audit Commission of how well local public services worked together to improve the quality of life for local people.

In 2009, the Council was judged to have scored level 3, 'performing well' for both Use of Resources and Managing Performance assessments and, therefore, scored a level 3, 'performing well' for its Organisational Assessment (where Level 1 = inadequate; Level 2 = adequate; Level 3 = performing well; Level 4 = performing excellently).
