Libraries

More than just Books!

Southend-on-Sea Borough Libraries are the busiest library services in the UK, lending more books per head of population than any other library service.

There's something for everyone from babies to retired people: we cater for all ages, abilities, interests and needs! 

The library is easy to join, membership is free and books are also free to borrow, but a small charge is made for audio-visual items.

A dedicated renewals telephone line makes life easier to extend the loan of your books if you are unable to visit any library. Just call 01702 215011. You can also renew your items via our on-line catalogue.
