Area Profiles

Area ProfilesArea Profile Series

Area profiles have been compiled by the Borough Council for Southend and its 17 wards, to provide socio-economic overviews using the 2001 Census data. The information for each area profile includes;

  • population,
  • ethnicity,
  • household composition,
  • health,
  • qualifications and
  • employment summaries.

The information is presented in both tables and charts and these are complemented by an initial factual summary of the key demographic features of the area, as indicated by the Census information. Comparisions with larger areas such as Essex and England and Wales have also been included. (see attachments)
