Music in Southend
Southend boasts a large number of amateur adult choirs, orchestras, bands and ensembles across the Borough, who all perform in local venues as well as further afield. In addition the Southend Boys' and Girls' Choirs, supported by Southend Borough Council, offer oppportunities to young singers to perform across the UK and beyond.

The Choir is one of the best known in the UK and abroad. It performs regularly with all the major orchestras, and has appeared in France, Germany, Holland, Greece and the USA, both live and on television and radio.

The Choir has a large and varied repertoire, including part songs, pop cantatas, spirituals, songs from stage, screen and operatic choruses. It frequently performs with orchestras in Gala concerts and has over the past years raised many thousand of pounds for charities.
