Tennis for All

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, its Leisure Operator and the Lawn Tennis Association, is offering residents as much outdoor tennis as they like, for just £27.50 a year, around 50p per week - per household.  Residents who have a Southend Advantage Card can join the scheme for just £25.

The scheme covers two sites in Southend, including Chalkwell Park and Priory Park, which between them now offer seven brand new outdoor, floodlit tennis courts, allowing residents to play recreational tennis all year round.

Those registered will be issued with a key fob and will be able to book tennis courts on line through www.southendparkstennis.com

Once the booking has been made, access to the courts will be with the key fob.

Benefits of purchasing a key fob include:

  • Access to outdoor courts, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Play as much tennis for around 50p per week.
  • New courts with non-slip surfaces, floodlights and perimeter fencing.
  • Secured by a key fob entry system to ensure the court facilities remain safe and usable.
  • Only accessed by other key fob users.
  • Free booking all year to reserve a court.
  • Sustainable long-term facilities.
  • Floodlights available for an additional charge (£2 for 30 minutes). Tokens can be purchased from any of the Council’s leisure centres.

To purchase your key fob and start playing outdoor tennis, please visit www.southendparkstennis.com or telephone 01702 613000 or visit one of the Council’s leisure centres.
