Chamber Ensemble of London

25th May 2018 at 20:00
The event will be held in Plaza Centre, Southchurch Road, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 2PT, and is £10.00 per person or £8 for members to attend.

The Chamber Ensemble of London is directed by the violinist Peter Fisher, amongst a handful of the world’s finest musicians as The Times noted following a Royal Albert Hall concert.

The Ensemble performs widely at St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly and the Purcell Room. For many years it was associated with the Wavendon Festival run by Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine, with a repertoire ranging from light music and jazz to the standard baroque and classical repertoire. Versatile programming, often using special arrangements and new music, has led to engagements with the London Film Museum in County Hall, the Banqueting House and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Performance prgramme includes:
“London and the Thames”
A varied programme consisting of music from all periods including Handel’s Water Music, Holst’s St Paul’s Suite, and music by Jenkins, Boyce and much more.

The Plaza Centre offers a splendid concert atmosphere, and is popular with performers and audience alike. Refreshments are available and there’s also ample parking. There is accommodation and access for visitors with disabilities.
