Having journeyed down the Thames and Hooghly Rivers this exhibition of 22 vibrant hand painted silk scrolls, just returned from India, tells the stories of 20 communities along the two rivers.
Made for Silk River with the help of artists and communities from Southend, which was twinned with Krishnanagar for the project.
The Silk River project that created these silk scrolls was funded by Arts Council England as well as many regional partners. Silk River is a participant in the UK/India 2017 Year of Culture created by the British Council.
See these beautiful scrolls up close from 2nd - 31st March with a private view taking place on the 6th March 6pm - 8pm.
