Answer:

Housing Associations provide a wide range of housing including warden assisted accommodation, hostels, homes for single people and family accommodation.

Southend has a number of Housing Associations operating in the Borough with approximately 1800 rented and shared ownership homes. Many of the Associations have an arrangement whereby at least half of their properties go to people from the local authority Homeseeker's Register.
