Trading standards FAQs
Give details of the goods or service you bought, when you bought them, how much you paid and any reference number given. Explain what the problem is. Tell the trader what action you have taken so far, such as visits and telephone calls made. Tell the trader what you want done about the problem and by what date. Tell the trader what action you will take if this is not done, for example possible County Court action.
Send your letter RECORDED DELIVERY and KEEP A COPY. If after waiting a reasonable time the problem is not resolved call the Trading Standards department.
