Answer:

All parking permit schemes need to be run on a self financing basis and the cost of permits allows us to provide enforcement, maintain the lines and signs and administer the permits.  The pricing of Resident's Permits is set at a fairly low level as this is subsidised by the payments received from business permits.  Whilst we will always give priority to residents and try to ensure cost increases are passed onto non residents, we must make sure that the running costs of the scheme are met.  Any price increases would be subject to full consultation with you.
