Southend-on-Sea Borough Council recognises the important role that private landlords and their agents play in providing rental accommodation to Southend residents

We aim to build a good working relationship between the Council and our private sector landlords, this will help streamline processes and allow a greater understanding of each other‟s priorities.

On 6th September 2010 the Council launched the Landlord Accreditation Scheme offering discounts and training opportunities to Landlords and their Managing Agents; follow the link to find out How to become an Accredited Member. • The Council holds regular forums for landlords and managing agents whom rent property within Southend Borough. Specific pages relating to current and previous forums can be accessed at www.southend.gov.uk/landlordsforum. The purpose of these forums is to increase positive working relationships between private sector landlords and the Council, disseminate information and legislative updates, and provide an opportunity for networking.
