Tracing your family history?

Tracing your family history then a library in Southend is the place for you.

Southend Libraries have added a new database: Ancestry Library Edition to their online reference library. This is available to anyone with a Southend Library ticket on People's Network public access computers in all libraries in Southend.

Ancestry is aimed at family historians and gives access to census, births, marriages and deaths and military records to name but a few. It covers many countries including the UK, USA, Australia, the major European countries and many more.

Southend Library also has microfiche copies of many Essex parish registers and early wills of Essex people in the Essex Record Office Archive Access Point. 1911 census vouchers are also on sale here priced £5.00.

Southend Libraries online reference library also contains the Encyclopaedia Britannica online, Oxford Reference online, EBSCO MasterFile Premier a magazines database, NewsBank containing national, local & international newspapers, Justis a law database, Annual Register a record of World Events, Oxford English Dictionary and Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.

All libraries have wheelchair access.
