Children's Reading Group at Westcliff Library (10-11 years)

This reading group meets for an hour once a month on Saturday morning at Westcliff Library. The group is for Year 6 children aged 10/11 who come from schools in the surrounding area. The group provides an opportunity for local children to share the enjoyment of their reading experiences with others in a relaxed and friendly environment. The sessions are fun and include playing games and using websites.

This group was started at Westcliff Branch Library in October 2009 by Greg Simmonds, Audience Development Librarian and Kathleen Shelley, the Library Manager at Westcliff Library.

Several schools close to Westcliff Library are invited to nominate children who would like to be part of a reading group from their year 6.

We are not yet at full capacity and would welcome new members.
