Council Tax - Moving Home

It is your responsibility to notify us when you move to a new home or move out of your existing home.

You can advise us of your move by completing our online form. This can be accessed either by clicking on the wording above or by looking under 'Online Form - Moving House' to the right of this page and selecting 'Council Tax Changes in Circumstance - Moving'.

Moving out

In order to close your account we will require the following information:

Owning your property 

• The date the sale of the property was completed
• The new owners name
• Your forwarding address
• The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished.

Renting your property

• The date your tenancy agreement ceased
• Your landlord/managing agents name and address
• Your forwarding address
• The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished.

Moving into Southend

To open an account we will require the following information:

Buying a property

• The date the sale of the property was completed
• The previous owners contact address if known.

Renting a property in Southend

• The date that your tenancy agreement commences
• Your landlord/managing agents name and address

Letting your property out

• The exact date that you vacated the property
• The name of the new tenant
• The exact dates of the tenancy agreement
• Your forwarding address
• If the property is being let out furnished or unfurnished
