Registration Service Information

The Southend Register Office, which is located on the ground floor of the Civic Centre and accessed via the side entrance from Carnarvon Road, offers the following services: 

• The registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
• The provision of Registrars to carry out ceremonies at the Register Office and at other approved premises.
• The provision of copy certificates.
• Naming Ceremonies
• Renewal of Vows
• Commitment Ceremonies
• Civil Partnership Ceremonies
• Citizenship Ceremonies
• Remembrance Funerals
• Floral Service and Stationery Service
• Commemorative Certificates

The Register Office is tastefully decorated and there is now an Approved Premises Marriage Room - the Jubilee Room. Both rooms offer fresh flowers and are fully air conditioned. The Marriage Room seats 24 guests and the Jubilee Room is suitable for the larger gathering seating up to 92 guests. Adjacent there is a pay and display car park.

With the Office centrally located, and good disabled access and toilet facilities, the friendly and professional staff will be glad to assist you in any way. Our Virtual Tour found under Useful Websites will give you a good idea of the excellent facilities we offer.

Car parking is in the pay and display car park in Carnarvon Road. The closest long stay (daily rate) car park is in Baxter Avenue, which runs parallel to Victoria Avenue to the west. Also close by, and ideal for photographs, is Churchill Gardens, with entrances from Carnarvon Road and East Street.
