Southend-on-Sea Borough Council

Accidents and First Aid

Thousands of accidents occur in workplaces every year. The following hyperlinks provide information on the type of First Aid provision that should be made available within the work place and exactly how to report an accident should one occur.

Accident reporting

The reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations 1995 require that certain more serious accidents to employees, self-employed people and members of the public are recorded and reported to the enforcing authority (the council).

First Aid

Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 work places must have first aid provision. The form it should take depends on various factors.
