FlytippingThe Environmental Care Team aims to assist all members of the community to live, work and visit a clean and tidy town by tackling a variety of issues that negatively affect the visual surroundings of public use area such as:

  • Untidy sites - private land, over growth and waste
  • Dumped rubbish
  • Overgrown gardens
  • Fly tipping
  • Fly posting
  • Graffiti

The Team provide a partnership approach with residents, businesses, the Council and its service providers in maintaining the local area to a high standard.

Advice and guidance is provided to people who are flouting the law or not having due consideration for our neighbours. Where anyone continues to ignore the advice provided, and continue to repeat their anti-social behaviour, enforcement action will be considered.

The town has been divided into seven districts with a Environmental Care Officer dedicated to each district. Each Officer will manage their district and investigate incidents of littering, flytipping, graffiti removal etc to maintain to a high standard the local surroundings.  Use the Online Forms section on the right-hand side of this page to report such incidents.

The Environmental Care Team will aim to respond to all service user requests within 24 hours and keep the service user updated as to course of action to be taken.  A full list of the Environmental Care Service Standards can be found under related downloads at the right hand side of this page.
