Hackney Carriage Office Responsibilities
The Trading Standards Hackney Carriage Office is responsible for the licensing of all Hackney Carriage (Taxis) and Private Hire Car Vehicles, as well as the drivers of all such vehicles. Private Hire Car Operators also require a Licence.
It is an offence to carry out Taxi or Hire Car activities without first obtaining a licence.
