Management of Friars Park Fishing Lake
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is pleased to offer the opportunity to manage a public fishing lake in Friars Park. Proactive applicants are sought to work with the Council to improve the existing facilities and help turn the lake into a successful new community fishing venue for Shoeburyness.
Applicants are invited to submit their initial proposals and rental offer for an initial five year licence for fishing at the lake which should explain how their plans will involve the community. The Council would expect prospective applicants to be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of freshwater angling and a willingness to work with the Council and the local community to develop the facility. Shortlisted applicants will be expected to meet members of the Council's park team to discuss their proposals prior to selection.
Applications are welcomed from suitable individuals as well as from angling clubs and organisations although an individual applicant would be expected to propose formation of a club as part of their proposals.
