Recycling Your Waste Electrical and Electronic Goods

Can I recycle my electrical and electronic goods?

Knowing exactly what to do with an old toaster, iron, microwave or washing machine can seem like a daunting task. In Southend all Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) produced from households may be deposited for recycling at either of the Household Waste Recycling Centres located at Stock Road, Southend-on-Sea or Leigh Marshes, Leigh-on-Sea.

Small electrical items such as hairdryers, electric shavers, irons, electric toothbrushes and radios can also be recycled at the WEEE Recycling bank located in the car park at Asda, Shoeburyness. Please do not leave any items next to the bank - if the bank is full then please let us know by using the contact details on the right of this page, or, if your item does not fit in the bank, please take it home again with you.

Don't forget that all WEEE can be recycled at the Household Waste Recycling Centres or can be collected as part of a chargeable bulky waste collection.
