Personal Budgeting Support
The Personal Budgeting Support page can give you help or advice about the following money matters:
- Budgeting and planning your money
- Opening and running a Bank Account
- Taking control over debts
- What benefits you are entitled to claim
There is an online budget planner tool for you to use to help you track and plan ahead. This tool will help you take control of your finances and set up your own personal budget and give you tips on how to further save money.
The online tool is available for anyone. It is quick and easy to use and can be found here or in the Useful Websites section on the left hand side of the page.
Referrals from the Department for Work and Pensions/Jobcentre Plus
If you make a claim for Universal Credit you may be referred from the Department for Work and Pensions/Jobcentre Plus for a face to face budgeting advice if they feel that you may benefit from it.
Once a referral has been received we will contact you and make an appointment.
You will need to bring all the paperwork you have for your income and what you spend each week/month. We will look at it with you and decide what level of help and support you need.
We will show you the Budget Tool and where necessary help you to complete it.
We will make further appointments with you to check that your new budget is working the way it should and that you are regaining control over your finances.
If required or if the help you need is more specialised we will refer you onto a different organisation.
