Household waste recycling centres (the tip)

Helpful hints for the tip

  • children and pets must stay in the vehicle for their own safety - these are working sites where vehicles and heavy machinery are constantly manoeuvring
  • the tips are for the deposit of large bulky items
  • please check to see if your item can be collected using one of the kerbside services available
  • bicycles can be accepted at the Re use shop at Stock Road
  • there is a restriction of one car boot load (with seats up) on soil and rubble. If you have a large amount of these materials, you should consider hiring a skip
  • If the item that you have cannot be recycled or composted, then it can be disposed of in the general waste container. This crushes items ready to be taken to SUEZ Mitcham Waste Transfer Station where it will be processed into fuel suitable for Energy from Waste facilities. Visitors using the sites are now required to separate bulky waste containing persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This includes items of furniture such as armchairs and sofas. Please ensure they are kept in a separate container. Signage will be in place and staff will be available to provide advice
