Applying for an Advantage Card

Who can get one?

Anyone who lives in Southend can get a Southend Advantage Card.

The cost and types of cards available

The following tables give details of the different types of Advantage card available.

Category A Advantage Cards

Category A - Use first column for Eligibility, then move across for cost of card and discount on services.

Adult £5.21 up to 10% off
Family (1 adult, all children) £9.43 up to 10% off
Family (2 adults, all children) £12.55 up to 10% off

Category B Advantage Cards

Category B - Use first column for Eligibility, then move across for cost of card and discount on services.

Under 17s £3.11 up to 10% off
60+ £3.11 up to 10% off
Students in full time education £3.11 up to 10% of

Category C Advantage Cards

Category C - Use first column for Eligibility, then move across for cost of card and discount on services.

Adult on low income* £1.02 up to 50% off
Under 17s on low income* £1.02 up to 50% off
60+ on low income* £1.02 up to 50% off
Carers* no charge up to 50% off

*Please note that low income is defined as being in receipt of benefits.

How do I apply/renew a Southend Advantage Card?

Complete the application form on-line attaching the requested evidence. If you are unable to attach this you can send it by email or send into the address further on this page quoting your reference which you will be supplied with at the end of the application.

The card will be sent out to you within 5 working days of the documentation and payment being received.

Evidence

  • proof of Southend address
  • passport-size quality photograph
  • proof of age
  • if applicable recent proof (no older than three months) of a receipt of one of the following: ESA, Universal Credit, housing benefit, working tax credit, income support, council tax reduction, severe disablement allowance, disability working/living allowance, PIP, or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • proof of student status (over 16 in full-time education) if applicable
  • Carers Card - attendance/carers allowance, for individual use for carer in receipt of allowance
