Animal Welfare Consultations

The Council’s Regulatory Services has responsibility for the Licensing of premises for Animal Welfare matters and is in the process of updating its existing licensing conditions.  The Council plans to adopt the conditions proposed by voluntary sector organisations and government bodies whose aim is to protect the best interests of animals for the following types of licensed premises:

Pet Vending Licensing developed by Cats Protection, Pet Industry Federation, British Veterinary Association, International Cat Care, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association, Reptile and Exotic Pet Trade Association, Dogs Trust, Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund.  2013; and 

Guidance for Cat Boarding Establishments 2013 developed by Cats Protection, Pet Industry Federation, British Veterinary Association, International Cat Care, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health,  Dogs Trust, Corporation of London, Epping Forest District Council, Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  2013 and;

Guidance for Dog Breeding Establishments developed by British Veterinary Association, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health,  Dogs Trust, City of London, Department for Environment and Rural Affairs, Epping Forest District Council, Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, British Small Animal Veterinary Association, Advisory Council on the Welfare Issues of Dog Breeding, The Kennel Club.  2014
