Recycling Scheme for Flats and Multi-Occupational Properties

Recycling at Flats and Multi-Occupational Properties

Flats and multi-occupational properties (generally a property occupied by more than one household and more than two people, for example, bedsits) receive a weekly collection service for pink recycling and clear textile recycling sacks, and black refuse sacks.

Managing agents may therefore have arranged for communal bins to be made available for you to put your sacks in. In the majority of cases separate recycling and refuse bins will have been provided so that residents can recycle as much as possible. If, however, this is not the case then please contact your managing agent and request that recycling facilities be provided.

If you do not have access to a recycling collection of any kind, or encounter problems with the recycling and refuse storage provision, or storage areas having bulky items dumped, then please contact your managing agent or Housing Association as they will usually be responsible for storage areas. If, however, the problem persists or collections are irregular then please contact us.

Flats will also receive a six-monthly delivery of pink, clear and black sacks. Please note that delivery arrangements may vary depending on the accessibility of the location, so please speak to your caretaker or managing agent if you have not received your sacks.

Some multi-occupational properties may not have the blue food waste bins yet, however, work is currently being undertaken to assess how best to deliver this service.
