Garden Waste Collections

For residents who are unable to home compost, there are two options to register for a chargeable garden waste collection service from the kerbside:

  1. Using a compostable sack collection
  2. Using a wheeled bin garden waste collection service - running for 39 or 52 weeks depending on your gardening needs.

The scheme year starts in March, with the 39 week option running until December.

How much does it cost?

Charges for Garden Waste Collection 2012/13
Service Fee
Garden waste sacks (roll of 10)  £5.75
Garden waste bin (to purchase)*  £29.50
39 week garden waste permit (March-December)  £34.50
52 week garden waste permit (March - March)  £46.10
Service extension charge**  £16.25

*After you have bought the wheeled bin you will also need to buy a 39 or 52 week permit for collections to take place.

**This is a charge for customers who choose to continue the service for an additional 13 weeks from the end of the 39 week term.

You need to place your garden waste wheeled bin or compostable sacks at the edge of your property by 7am on your scheduled collection day where they can be seen and are easily accessible from the road. Please ensure they do not block the public highway (pavement or road).
