Roads and Footway Maintenance and Fault reporting

We are responsible for maintaining footways, roads and any defects which the public identify including;

  • potholes
  • trips hazards
  • obstructions on the pavement

The public highway is the area between the boundary of premises on either side of the street and includes, footways, verges, shrubberies, cycleways, carriageways (road), central reservations, roundabouts and features such as street lighting, gullies, drainage channels, signs, guard railings etc... within this area.

To report any problems related to Highways please contact Highways Maintenance, complete one of the online forms or complete a pre-paid postcard which can be obtained from the public library or the Civic Centre.

If dangerous, phone us straight away. 

If you want to report something that is dangerous on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday please report it to the Out of Hours Service on 01702 215000.
