Dangerous structures and public safety

Reporting a Dangerous Structure

The Building Control Group are also responsible for ensuring that any risk of injury to members of the public caused by dangerous structures is removed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Notification of a possible dangerous structure can be made to us anytime using the online form or the contact details on the right hand side of this page.

We also control the way in which buildings are demolished to protect the safety of neighbours and the general public. Our Building Control Officers will be happy to provide advice in relation to demolition. If you intend to carry out demolition within a conservation area or to a residential property then you may also require conservation area consent or prior approval from Development Control (view details in our Planning section or contact Development Control for further information).
