About the pool

This fantastic facility includes:

• 25-metre-long eight-lane competition pool and a world class diving pool.
• World Class diving pool with fixed platforms at 1m, 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m, two springboards at 1m and a further springboard at 3m; with water agitation and air cushion system.
• The diving pool also features a moveable floor to enable swimming lessons and exercise classes to take place.
• a dry-diving training facility complete with harness and trampolines
• 374 tiered seats, including 22 wheelchair spaces, and
• a small fun pool with water slide

British Swimming has announced its intention to use the new pool as a training base for the British Olympic diving team prior to the London 2012 games.

Getting there

Transport links to the pool have been improved by extending the operating hours of the number 27 bus service which runs from Canvey Island to Garon Park via the town centre. The service operates daily and is run by First Bus, please visit their website for timetable information.

Costs

For a single swim/dive session:

• £3.80 for an adult
• £2.10 for a child

Membership for swimming only is:

• £20.12 per month on a 24-month contract
• £24.95 per month for a 2 months' notice contract

Please note the minimum age for diving is 5 years old as well as a minimum requirement of being able to swim 50 metres without assistance.
