Exceptionally talented vocal ensemble "The Songmen" will present a sparkling programme of unaccompanied vocal music from 8pm on Friday 18th January.
They will perform pieces from the 16th century to present day, at the Plaza Centre in Southchurch Road, Southend, SS1 2PT
Their repertoire includes madrigals and close harmony, featuring works by Byrd, Monteverdi, Stanford, and Poulenc as well as arrangements of folk songs, and contemporary music.
The Songmen are an international multi award winning a capella group, with a wealth of experience of classical, sacred and popular music.
They have quickly earned an international reputation, and now regularly appear in concerts across Britain and Europe as well as on broadcasts and recordings.
Recent highlights include performing on BBC Radio 3 alongside Aled Jones.
This is the first event of the new year for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Concert Club which offers professional concerts at extremely low ticket prices.
Discounted tickets are available to Concert Club members. Tickets range from £10 to £7
