New Chief Executive recommended to Full Council

The Council’s Appointments and Disciplinary committee have recommended to Full Council that Alison Griffin is appointed as the Council’s new Chief Executive and Town Clerk.
The recommendation follows a national recruitment and selection process that was completed on Wednesday afternoon, and is subject to the approval of Full Council on Tuesday 21st March at 6.30pm, and the completion of the normal pre-employment checks.
Alison Griffin is currently Director of Finance and Corporate Services at the London Borough of Bexley, having previously been Assistant Director for Communities at the London Borough of Camden from May 2010 to August 2013 and then Deputy Director of Finance at the same authority until September 2014.
Cllr John Lamb, Leader of the Council, says: “The Appointments and Disciplinary Committee are delighted to recommend to Full Council that Alison Griffin is appointed as the new Chief Executive and Town Clerk.
“The recruitment and selection process was rigorous and proper, and all candidates should be congratulated for the professionalism and integrity in which it was carried out.”
Acting up arrangements will be in place from 1st April until the new Chief Executive takes up the post. A start date will be agreed following Full Council.
