An exciting new series of classical music concerts

Southend-on-sea Borough Council is set to launch an exciting new series of music concerts running from October 2010 – June 2011.
Throughout the series spectators will be wowed with performances of music for String Ensemble, a virtuosic percussion duo, an evening of Baroque music for cello and harpsichord, piano recitals and a string quartet and vocal ensemble, to name but a few!
The first concert takes place at 8pm on Friday 15th October at the Plaza Centre (Southend Christian Fellowship Centre), 600 Southchurch Road , Southend, and features the excellent Locrian Ensemble performing music by Mendelssohn and Schubert.
Following this will be the amazing percussion duo Maraca 2 performing music by Chopin, Ravel and Whibley on the 19th November, with the series then continuing in the New Year with performances from pianist Antony Peebles, the Coull String Quartet, and the very popular vocal group VOCES8.Tickets range from £5 to £9 with concession prices for members of the Southend Council Concert Club
