Local businesses are invited to come along to a ‘South East Business Boost’ event at London Southend Airport on Thursday 12 October.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the event will celebrate the launch of a new grants programme, offering local small and medium size businesses access to free business support as well as a range of grants to support the growth and development of their businesses.

Those attending the event will have the opportunity to meet with the South East Business Boost team as well as local businesses that have benefitted from the programme previously.

Speakers at the event will include Councillor John Lamb, Leader of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Councillor Ann Holland, Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Councillor for Culture, Tourism and the Economy.  Representatives from local businesses will also speak, talking about their experiences of the South East Business Boost programme.

Councillor Ann Holland, Deputy Leader of the Council and Executive Councillor for Culture, Tourism and the Economy said:  “One of our key aims at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is to create a more prosperous Southend.  I would really encourage all our local small and medium sized businesses to come along to this event in October and learn about how they can access a range of free business advice and grants, courtesy of the European Regional Development Fund.

“It will be an ideal opportunity to do some networking and find out how the South East Business Boost could really help them to grow their business.”

Any local businesses interested in attending the event or requiring further information can contact the Programme Management Team by email or calling 01702 215368.
