Residents invited to help create vision for future of the Borough

Through the Our Town, Our Future programme, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is co-hosting a series of workshops across the area to help build a vision for the Borough.
On Saturday 21st October, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is inviting people in and around Southend to come together at The Forum, Elmer Square and think about the future they want to help create for their community. What should it look and feel like? What will be its key characteristics? And crucially, what are people already doing – or what could people do – to make that vision a reality?
You don’t need to do any preparation, just turn up on the day. If you can’t make it but would like to be involved, get in touch.
Cllr Andrew Moring, Executive Councillor for Corporate and Community Support Services, said: “If you are free, please come along and have your say. This isn’t just about gathering the views of local people, but helping to connect up the ideas and energy that will make a real, practical difference in the years ahead. In other words, it’s about encouraging conversations that build real momentum.
“Economy and skills, the local environment, connecting-up communities and strengthening our ‘sense of place’ have all been themes we’ve heard about in earlier events, but there is no fixed agenda, so participants can raise other themes as well. Above all, we want people to focus on things they think can best be achieved through different groups and individuals working together.”
If you’d like to ask any questions about this event, please contact the lead facilitator Rob Francis.
