Tickets are now on sale for the finale of the current Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Concert Series, on Friday 22 June, where international acclaimed Baroque Quartet ‘Red Priest’ will be performing.

The acoustic foursome have previously been compared in the press to the Rolling Stones, Jackson Pollock, the Marx Brothers, Spike Jones and the Cirque du Soleil, and will be performing music by Telemann, Byrd, Handel and much more.

Founded in 1997, and named after the red-headed priest, Antonio Vivaldi, Red Priest has given over 1000 sell-out concerts in many of the world’s most prestigious festivals, including the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Moscow December Nights Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, Prague Spring Festival, Ravinia Festival and the Bermuda Festival. They have also toured throughout North and Central America.

Cllr Lesley Salter, Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities and Wellbeing, said: “We are pleased to announce ‘Red Priest’ will be performing at the finale of the well-received Council Concert Series. The concerts enable residents and visitors to enjoy world-renowned music, and this finale will not disappoint.

“This is not one to be missed and I would like to urge residents to book their tickets and enjoy the wonderful musical talents of ‘Red Priest’.”

Tickets can be purchased online via our website or by phone on 01702 215011 Monday – Friday during office hours, and are priced £10 with discounts for Concert Club Members.

The new concert series will be starting in October this year.
