Southend-on-Sea will welcome the exciting and talented young Golden Piano Trio for the latest instalment of the popular free lunchtime recitals.

The Trio will present a 45-minute programme of music on Wednesday 10 October from 12:15pm until 1pm in the Council Chamber at Southend Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea.  The concert is free to attend, with a retiring collection.

First prize-winners of the Cavatina Chamber Music Competition in 2010, The Golden Piano Trio were formed under the direction of the Arman Piano Trio at the Dartington International Summer School in 2009 whilst on a full bursary. Its members are Valtie Nunn (violin), Dan James (cello) and Cat Herriot (piano).

Heralded for their warm and engaging performances the trio has enjoyed a wide and varied performing career across the UK and Europe performing in venues such as St Martin in the Fields, London Charterhouse, Bristol Cathedral, MacLaren Hall, St Leonard’s Hythe for the Young Professional Series, Pound Arts Center, Farnham Maltings as well as many regional concerts.

They were awarded the John Thompson Chamber Music prize for excellence in recognition of their performances. The Golden Piano Trio have also given several concerts, to critical acclaim, in Galicia, Spain, including at the Teatro Colón, where they were also invited to give chamber music masterclasses at A Coruña High Conservatory.

Their programme on 10 October will include music by Beethoven, Schumann and Piazzolla.

The Concert Series offers local residents and visitors the opportunity to attend high quality live music performances and offers musicians a local performance platform.

This event is a continuation of the Council’s well-loved and very well-established recital series which features many excellent local performers over the year.

Next month’s concert, at 12:15pm on Wednesday 14 November, features Soundspark Wind Quartet.
