Southend Pier is set to be haunted shortly!
Plans are set for plenty of ghostly fun to be had, from ghost stories and spooky fancy dress to a fantastic firework display.
The festivities will run for three Saturdays, from 23rd October to 6th November, during which time Southend Pier will be running a special 'Ghost Train' experience with ghostly tales after the Pier has closed.
This train ride cleverly coincides with the seafront winter fireworks displays, as the Pier Head is an ideal platform to view the bonanza! Due to the popularity of this event, booking is essential. Tickets are £5 for Adults and £3 for Children, and can be purchased from the Visitor Information Centre at the Pier.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Deputy Leader, Councillor John Lamb, said: "What better way to have a spooky autumn season! When else can you take a ride on the Pier train after hours, with the added bonus of the Firework spectacular with the best seats in the house at the end of the Pier!
"There is fun to have for all the family, so why not dress up and come down for a truly terrifying time?! Meanwhile, the fireworks will also be continuing for a six week period with lots of other entertainment on the seafront from 4.30pm till 9pm."
