Garons Tennis Academy based at Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre has received satellite performance accreditation from the Lawn Tennis association for the fifth year in a row.
The accreditation recognises the continued dedication of centre and coaching staff in delivering high quality tennis programmes throughout the year.
The LTA supports many clubs across the country which show a commitment to providing opportunities for young players to access quality structured programmes and coaching.
Garons coaches have assisted many young local players to achieve their goals within the sport, with many players going on to play at county, regional and national levels.
As part of its accreditation the Academy has to demonstrate that all the coaches are licensed or registered with the LTA and that the programme has a strong development programme, allows for easy entry into tennis for all players and a provides a structured pathway from grass roots to performance tennis with a strong focus on mini tennis for children aged 10 and under.
Derek Jarvis, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture, said: "The accreditation is a fitting recognition for the great work that the academy does, as well as recognising the commitment of the players and coaches who strive to give the best opportunities for all players to succeed in tennis."
