Bridge strengthening works

Works begin this month to strengthen two more highway bridges in Southend-on-Sea.
The work forms part of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's continuing programme to bring all the Borough's bridges up to full national standards.
The bridges are located on Kingswood Chase, just north of the junction with Manchester Drive , and on Manchester Drive itself, just east of the Cricketfield Grove junction.
Between now and December they will undergo partial reconstruction and major maintenance works.
These operations will be phased so that vehicles can access the roads and properties throughout the works. There will be temporary traffic signals to maintain traffic flow.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause.
