Still time to have YOUR say on Southend spending

Don’t miss the chance to tell us how you would like us to spend next year’s Southend-on-Sea Borough Council budget.
There are just two weeks left now to respond to the Council's consultation to help us plan next year's budget.
Already nearly 800 residents have jumped at the opportunity to tell us what they think are the most important things for us to spend money on.
What do you most value, what do you think the Council could do less of and how could we do things differently?
We are urging residents to give us their views by completing a survey, either online at www.southend.gov.uk/budgetconsultation or by returning the hard copy of the survey included in the latest edition of the Council's residents' magazine Outlook.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Leader, Councillor Nigel Holdcroft, said: "We are really pleased that so many people have already taken the trouble to respond. We would very strongly encourage everyone who has any views at all about our future spending, and who has not yet replied, to hurry to fill in the survey.
"We know there are some very tough decisions ahead. We will simply have much less money available, following the commitment by the new Coalition Government to significantly reduce public sector funding.
"We want to listen to, and learn from our residents, so that together we can help shape Southend. The views expressed in this consultation will inform our priorities for the next three years and, in turn, how the Council spends its money."
