Free convention for local sports clubs

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is holding an informal convention for sports clubs located within the borough.
The event will be held in the First Floor Foyer at the Civic Centre in Victoria Avenue on Saturday 13th November 2010 from 10am to 2.30pm.
Sports club representatives will get the chance to take part in workshops led by professional speakers which are aimed at helping them promote their clubs.
The free workshops will enable them to deliver a better service to their users as well as generate new ideas to attract new members.
As an added incentive to attend those that register early for the convention will be given a free ticket to Southend United's clash with Accrington Stanley on Saturday 13th November.
Councillor Derek Jarvis, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Culture, said: "This is a great opportunity for local sports clubs, not only to share ideas with one another but also to receive advice from experts on how to improve the running of their clubs."
