Progress Road update

Published Friday 19th November 10 in Council and democracy news

Motorists are warned of an A127 Southend bound overnight road closure tonight, Friday 19th November, to allow re-surfacing work to continue between Rayleigh Weir and Progress Road.

Fully signed diversions will be in place while these works take place between midnight and 5am. We expect these works to be completed but if by any chance they should overrun due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, the closure order does allow the contractor to extend the closure period into Saturday and Sunday night, again between midnight and 5am.

The time of the closures were chosen to reduce the impact on the travelling public. These closures are essential in keeping the workforce safe during the resurfacing of the carriageway on the A127 within the Progress Road Junction improvements.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council apologises for any inconvenience that these closures may cause. Please see www.bettersouthend.com and click on the 'related downloads' tab for copies of the diversion routes.  The contractors telephone number during the closure is 07967 578494.
