Let’s get down to business!

Local businesses are invited to attend a new style business briefing at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council’s recently opened Tickfield Centre on Monday 29th November 2010.

 

 

During the briefing, which runs from 8.15am to 10am, attendees will hear a keynote speech from David Ivins, Director of Consumer Business at Olympus Keymed.

Andy Lewis, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Corporate Director of Enterprise, Tourism and the Environment, will also give an update on council projects.

As well as insightful and interesting presentations there will also be an opportunity to put forward questions to a panel composed of local business people and council representatives.

Aside from David Ivins and Andy Lewis, other panel members will include Council Leader Nigel Holdcroft and Dominic Berry, Director of Sales and Marketing at Rezidor Park Inn Palace .

The event will be chaired and facilitated by Murray Foster, Chairman of the Southend Business Partnership.

Southend Business Partnership is a local forum for keeping in touch with a range of business related issues.

It provides businesses with opportunities to find out what's new in the Borough, speak directly to the Council and meet with other public sector organisations and private sector businesses.

The partnership has more than 300 members from the business community, public sector and other organisations which share a common interest in the town's economic development.

Councillor Ian Robertson, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council's Executive Councillor for Enterprise , Tourism and Regeneration, said: "This is a unique opportunity to hear first hand about the practices of leading local businesses and learn about the latest issues and opportunities in the area.

"It is also a great way to help shape plans and strategies to promote the successful development and prosperity of Southend, so please come along prepared with questions to quiz the panel!"

The event is free to attend and is open to all businesses in Southend, with tea and coffee provided on arrival.

However, please note that there is a parking capacity for only 75 vehicles, so please car share if possible.
