Thrilled Cheryl King’s penguin-spotting skills won her a tremendous £1,000 worth of festive goodies in Southend Town Centre Partnership’s fabulous Christmas contest.
Cheryl, 30, of Great Wakering, Essex, entered 'The Ultimate Town Centre Experience' Christmas competition to give the number of animated penguins featured in The Royals' Shopping Centre Christmas display.
She came up with the winning answer - six - and today, Wednesday 22nd December, received her terrific prizes from Dawn Jeakings, who is manager of the Royals and chairs Southend Town Centre Partnership.
Surveying the armfuls of gifts, Cheryl said: "I'm so lucky. It's very exciting - this has absolutely made my Christmas!
The Mum of two, who runs Caterpillar Music, giving music sessions for children up to four years old, is now preparing to share her winnings with husband, Anthony, 30, sons Charlie, 11, Joshua, eight, and the rest of her wider family and friends.
Her fantastic prizes included £200 to spend at the Victoria Shopping Centre, a ladies Rotary watch from Sarah Beth Jewellers and a 19-inch TV/DVD combi with Freeview from TJ Hughes.
The prize also includes: £100 in Tesco vouchers, a £65 weekend and evening course at South Essex College, a meal for two at Ora restaurant, an M&S Christmas hamper, a family ticket to see Peter Pan at the Cliffs Pavilion, McDonalds vouchers, c2c leisure tickets, a family ticket for Adventure Island and Sealife Adventure, an hour with Martin and Su in the Heart FM studio and a Heart FM goody bag, a £50 voucher for Bella Italia, a £50 lunch voucher for Churchill's Café and Bar, a hamper of produce from the Southend Farmers and Craft Market, a traditional sweet hamper from Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shop, a family meal voucher from Tomassi's Café, a hamper including pier train ride tickets, a Southend Radio studio tour and goody bag and a silver lobster claw bracelet from Pandora.
