Life in Southend – have your say!

Residents in Southend are being asked to take part in an important survey which aims to find out what they think about the quality of life in the town.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, on behalf of the Southend Together Partnership, is inviting people to give their views on a wide range of issues.

The survey is being launched on Monday 17th January and will run until Monday 28th February.

It will provide local people with a real opportunity to say how involved they feel in local decision-making.

They will also be able to indicate how satisfied they are with their local environment and the amenities in their neighbourhood.

And the survey will also enable residents to express their concerns about the problems affecting their communities, such as littering, graffiti and anti-social behaviour.

It will even include a specific section on the town centre - so if you live, visit or work in this area, have your say!

The results of the survey, which is being delivered jointly with The Essex Partnership, will be used by the Council and other public service providers such as the Police and NHS Primary Care Trust to better understand what they need to do to improve local services.

The survey can be accessed on the Council's website by clicking on

Residents can also request a paper copy of the survey by calling 01702-215000.

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council Leader, Councillor Nigel Holdcroft, said: "Before we can make future plans it is essential to gain the views of residents.

"We hope as many people as possible will take the time to complete this survey because our future decisions will be guided by the responses people give."
